The green slope is literally the only hill in Amsterdam.

After the epic journey of the last two days making it to Vancouver was a victory. To celebrate I sat by the pond outside Zoe’s apartment and read my book for a little while. That Greene fellow wrote some damn fine sentences.

We bought nice wine and had a fine supper when Spence got home. Zoe got me to the last ferry with exactly zero minutes to spare. Zoe and Spence are the best.

I still have $5 left on my NYC metro card. That means I have to go back soon, right?

I officially can no longer handle winter. At all. Send help. Please. I will accept plane tickets to warm climates. A weekend in a hotel with an outdoor pool in a warm climate. Warm sand beaches. LA food. Offerings to sun gods.

It is soooo cold in Toronto today. That north wind is brutal. New York was warm, wtf TO? Oh well I’m flying back out west tomorrow anyway.

But first a six hour layover in Montreal. I’m going into the city for bagels. Who wants fresh Montreal bagels??
